SHREVEPORT, La (Aug. 10, 2017) – Magnolia School of Excellence K-5
campus has hired Kim Derrick as its new principal for the 2017-2018 school year. Derrick is a veteran educator who has spent more than 22 years serving in a variety of educational and educational leadership positions in Caddo Parish School District. She recently came out of retirement to serve as the director of curriculum and instruction at Calvary Baptist Academy. Prior to that, she was principal at A. C. Steere Elementary School where she was awarded Caddo Principal of the Year in 2014.
Derrick earned her Bachelor of Science in education from Louisiana State University in Shreveport and her master’s in supervision with administrative certification from Centenary College in Shreveport.
