Charter School Parent Defends Louisiana Schools Amid Lawsuit

A lawsuit is currently underway in Louisiana that would threaten the charter schools of more than 13,000 students. A parent of one of these students, Christin White-Kaiser, wrote a letter to the New Orleans Advocate in defense of charter schools.

Ultimately, about 75 percent of students – almost 10,000 – would be “forced to return to lower-performing district schools” if the lawsuit succeeds. This includes about 85 percent of students from one of our CSUSA schools, Lake Charles Charter Academy in Lake Charles, LA.
