HUNTERS CREEK, Fla – (June 3, 2016) – Renaissance Charter School at Hunter’s
Creek has hired Robert Acosta as its new principal. Acosta has significant expe-
rience as a school leader, having most recently served as school administrator for Dallas Independent School District (ISD). Vanessa Suarez, the school’s founding principal has accepted a new opportunity within Charter Schools USA’s team and will be manager of high school programming.
Acosta was part of the administrative team that led J.L. Long Middle School – the only ISD middle school to achieve this milestone – through the I.B Middle Years Programme admission process. During this time, he also managed student and teacher teams that placed in the top ten Texas Association of Math and Science Coaches State Competitions.
He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in business management from the University of Phoenix. He continued on and earned a Master of Science in urban education policy and education leadership administration from Southern Methodist University (SMU) in Dallas and a Master of Education in administration and policy from the University of Texas in Arlington.

While we are sure students and families will miss Ms. Suarez, we are confident that the transition will be very smooth as she moves on to her next steps with CSUSA.”
