New Leadership at Lake Charles College Prep

Veteran Team to Bring The Prep to the Next Level

LAKE CHARLES, La. (April 5, 2016) – Felix HarrisFelix Harris will be the new principal at Lake Charles College Prep in Louisiana has accepted the position of principal at Lake Charles College Prep. He most recently served as the Prep’s assistant principal where he has been serving
as interim principal during this school year. He previously served as
principal-in-training at Downtown Miami Charter School, one of
Charter Schools USA’s highest achieving schools located in one of
the most impoverished areas of Miami.

“Dr. Harris has proven that his leadership style is one that builds positive relationships with students, parents and staff,” said Sabrah Kingham, regional director for Charter Schools USA. “He has built a positive school culture that promotes clear and consistent expec-
tations for academics and behavior. He is a true asset to our school.”

Harris earned his Bachelor of Science and Master of Education from Florida State University. He earned his Doctorate of Education in educational leadership from Nova Southeastern University.

In addition to Harris’ appointment, Ken Roebuck has also joined the leadership team at The Prep. With a long history in the education field, he started his career in a coaching role at University of Louisiana Lafayette working with the baseball program. He served in the same role at Samford University in Birmingham, AL and Loyola University in New Orleans. He served in several high school baseball teaching and coaching positions in New Orleans and Lafayette. He most recently served as an administrator and principal at Carencro High School in Lafayette.

Roebuck earned a degree in commerce and business administration from the University of Alabama and obtained his master’s degree in education from the University of Louisiana Lafayette. He has expertise in the areas of master scheduling, working with students of poverty, RTI, data-decision making, building Professional Learning Communities, Professional Development and special education.

“Mr. Roebuck will help bring The Prep to the next level with advanced training for teachers and staff,” said Kingham. “The students in schools where he has served have experienced tremendous growth and we are looking forward to tapping into his expertise.”
