This school is a two-story, 68,152-square-foot, state-of-the-art building located on a portion of a 28 acre parcel. The general contractor is Summit Construction. The building is designed to create an exciting academic environment that includes state-of-the-art classrooms, a multi-purpose room that can be used as a cafeteria as well as a space for general assemblies and indoor recreational activities, science lab, computer lab, music room and art room. Advanced safety measures include a double-entry door security feature and security cameras throughout the building. Bright spacious hallways are designed for maximum traffic flow with minimal congestion. Outdoor amenities include a basketball court, soccer and sports fields and an elementary-age appropriate covered playground.
At capacity, the school will house 1,145 Kindergarten through eighth grade students. In the first year, students will be accepted in grades K-6 with additional grades added in subsequent years. The school is governed by Renaissance Charter School, Inc., a not-for-profit board that currently holds charters for 30 schools in Florida. The board has hired Charter Schools USA (CSUSA), one of the nation’s leading educational management organizations to run the daily operations of the school.
This is the first school managed by Charter Schools USA in Clay County.
Information sessions will be held at Clay County Library, 1895 Town Center Boulevard on the following Wednesdays at 6 p.m. : March 25; April 8 and April 22.
