NAPLES, Fla (Dec. 16, 2016) – Collier Charter Academy has hired its founding leader, veteran educator Kimberly Zambito. Zambito has served both in the classroom and in administration with Bonita Springs Charter School since 2008. She most recently served as assistant principal and has held positions as dean of curriculum and instruction and as a lead teacher.
“Ms. Zambito has been a guiding force at Bonita Springs and has a great familiarity with the Naples community,” said Michelle Thompson, lead principal for the west coast of Florida. “Her dedication and enthusiasm and experience with our educational model will serve the students and parents well in the new school.”
Zambito earned her Bachelor of Science degree majoring in resort, hospitality and tourism management and a minor in business management from Florida Gulf Coast University (FGCU). Also at FGCU she graduated from the teacher immersion program and earned her Master of Education degree in educational leadership. She has also participated in Charter Schools USA’s Leading Edge program since 2011 and has completed tracks in curriculum/dean, assistant principal and is completing the principal track.
